Cannot delete contents of a string field within Arc. Doing a data spread clear will insert the shortcut command into a string cell.

Describe the bug
Please see the attached video. A cube contains a string value in a cell. You want to delete the contents of that cell.
- If you press Delete on the cell, the contents will be vanish momentarily, but will then "return". (I put "return" in quotes since the transaction log shows no deletion occurred from the cube, as mentioned below.)
- If you try to use data spreading from another string cell, the contents will not be cleared. Instead the keyboard shortcut (eg C> ) will be entered into the starting cell. Doing a data spreading "Clear" from a numeric cell will have no effect at all.
- Note: This does not need to be changed since this is the same behaviour that you'll see in Perspectives. The only reason that I brought it up is that in the absence of the [Delete] key working, it was the only way I could see as an alternative to clear the cell.
- One thing that wasn't shown in the video, but which I tried later, was executing a "Cut" command. The value in the cell will go into the clipboard (as evidenced by the fact that I could paste it into Notepad) and will momentarily vanish from the grid BUT, as with the [Delete] command, the string contents soon "return" to the cell.
- Note: The transaction log does not show that the value in the cell was in fact ever cleared. While the value may "disappear" from the grid, it doesn't appear to do so from the cube.
The transaction log for a set of transactions like those in the video (excluding numeric inputs) is below.

Please see the video attached.
Expected behavioUr
- Pressing [Delete] should cause strings to be removed from a cell, just as it does for numeric values.
Logs and Errors
There are no errors or logs relating to this, and nothing in the console.
The uncompressed video is a meg over size, so I've had to 7zip it.
