No (good) way to select hierarchy in view when dimension contains many hierarchies
Describe the bug
The new horizontal layout for dragging a hierarchy onto the view canvas is generally a massive improvement over the old layout. However in the case that a dimension really has a lot of hierarchies (or not so many but the hiewrarchies have long names) then there is no way to select a hierarchy which is alphabetically at the end of the list as the UI is missing â method to select hierarchies which aren't displayed.
You can kind of work around this issue by dragging enough currently displayed hierarchies into the view until the one you want becomes available and then drag the others back. But this isn't really an acceptable solution.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open a view containing a dimension with >10 hierarchies (e.g. APQ.Demo T Year-Month)
- Try to drag the "YTD" hierarchy onto the view
Expected behavior
Where the horizontal space in the tab is not enough to display all available hierarchies either:
- A horizontal scrollbar should display to allow to scroll to other hierarchies
- The last hierarchy should convert into a drop-down list to allow selection of a hierarchy not currently displayed which can then be dragged
- A clickable ">" cheveron button should display at the right allowing to scroll the horizontal list of available hierarchies
- Some other mechanism
