## Important information when upgrading from Pulse v5:
It is highly recommended to read the Pulse 6 getting started guide: code.cubewise.com/docs/getting-started-with-pulse-v6.
You can’t run Pulse 5 and Pulse 6 side-by-side.
The TM1 REST API ports for all TM1 instances should be open and available to the Pulse Application Server.
## Recommendations:
It is recommended to Back-up Pulse before doing the upgrade.
To use the migration features between two Pulse servers, the Pulse version needs to be the same in the two environments.

## What's new
* Pulse can be installed on a Linux server (recommended version is RedHat Entreprise v8.4)

* Optimizations have been added to better manage the data stored in Pulse Elasticsearch. Starting with v6.1, Pulse is going to store only the most relevant data to reduce the disk space and memory footprint on the server. One of the main changes is that Pulse is not going to create pulse-tm1-top indices, this index is storing all threads (Idle + Running). This index was not used in the Pule Explorer dashboards and all active threads are still available in the pulse-server-state index. On top of that, The Pulse Explorer internal mechanism now integrates a set o routines that will be frequently monitor the usage of the disk space together with the settings in the Pulse.cfg to ensure that only the relevant data is stored in the Pulse Elastic Cluster.

* A new button has been added to make it easier to gather the Pulse logs. In the About page, just click the **Download Pulse Logs** button and it will create a zip file with the Pulse logs and the Pulse.cfg:
