Pulse Opensearch Dashboards

Hi Team,

we are trying to upgrade pulse from version 6.4.0 to 6.5.2. we have observed in v6.5.2 kibana is replaced by new OpenSearch dashboards. What will happen to dashboards which are created in kibana by our business users after we upgrade to v.6.5.2? will the kibana dashboards, automatically migrated to OpenSearch dashboards?

Do we need to take any special precautions for this upgrade? specifically for kibana dashboards.

Hi @raviteja.balla,

Pulse should delete only the those who have the pattern "Pulse"* for dashboards and "pulse-*". However, please perform the back up of your objects so you can import them in the case these are needed.

Thanks for the information. can you please confirm if the entire pulse historical data will be maintained even if we upgrade to latest version.

until now our users are only using default pulse dashboards ("Pulse" * for dashboards and "pulse-")that comes with installation . will these default dashboards will also be maintained with historical data once we upgrade to latest pulse version?

Yes, I can confirm that the historical data that are in the pulse-* indices will be maintained and upgrade. The same is with default dashboards that Pulse provides, these will also be upgraded and enhanced.

my previous comment was to tell you how to back up Kibana objects that were created by the user.
