Add custom context menu options for running TIs per object type
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Pure enhancement request.
Describe the solution you'd like
Functionality that will allow me to specify new context menu options when right-clicking on an object (server, cube etc.).
Those options would allow me to run a specified process against that object i.e. using selected objects attributes in parameter e.g. name of the cube in pCube parameter of assigned }bedrock process.
Configuration of said context options would be done through a new tool which would allow to:
- Set the name of context menu option
- Choose type of object for which it appears
- Define which TI should be run
- Assign available object attributes as default (or hardcoded) values for TIs parameters
To make that technically easier to implement Arc could pre-create e.g. 3 options per object type and hide them unless configured.
Example: Administrator is often duplicating existing subsets Current situation:
- Select }bedrock TI that clones subsets, fill all parameters, run it Proposed situation:
- Go to new tool
- Choose 1st placeholder context menu and configure it as follows:
- Set the name to "Duplicate subset"
- Set the TI to }bedrock.hier.sub.clone (I don't remember exact name)
- Set pDim to name of selected subsets dimension
- Set pSub to name of selected subset
- Every time administrator has to do that he/she can just right click on subset, choose duplicate and specify new name
Describe alternatives you've considered
Manually executing TI from list of TIs or from list of "favorited" TIs.
