Arc/Slice - Stacked dims on rows with long names make columns Dim "disappear"
** Key Information (please complete the following information):**
- Company / Customer Name: GHD
- Arc/Slice Version: 4.3 in DEV , 4.2 in Prod (happens in both..)
- Excel Version: Excel 365
Describe the bug
When stacking dims on rows on the cube Viewer of Slice, and some have long element descriptions, consuming all screen space, it makes the columns dim and therefore the data "Disappear". (Happens in Arc as well, but Slice has less space already because of the left Panel)
This seems to occur as the default behavior is that the rows dim are frozen panel and doing the width auto based on the elements descriptions, which is good, but in this case, the only way to make the columns and data visible again, is to manually resize the rows dim width. This is occurring at a Client site and reported by them, but it is easily replicable in any model, I was able to reproduce in my local machine, happens in both Arc and Slice, even latest version.
Note on the screen below, as a test done on my machine, because the long names uses all space, it is no possible to scroll to the right anymore, so the Measure column and the data cannot be seen.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- create long aliases for 1 or 2 dimensions of a cube
- Open cube Viewer, and stack 3 dims or more (including the ones with long alias names) on the rows, the names have to be long until cover all screen space, or stack more dimensions.
- Recalculate view, and the column dimension and the data will not be available.
- Have to manually reduce the rows dim width, but after another recalc, it goes back, so it is "gone" again..
Expected behavior
It would be good if it were to recognize that will consume all screen space after a recalc the view, and un-freeze the rows dim, so it is scrollable to the right, this would be the preferable outcome, but as an alternative, could be "force" to resize the rows dim to a shorter width so there is enough space.
Thanks!
